The planetarium offers summer camps every year!


Astronomy Summer Camp

  • This summer camp is an introduction to Astronomy for grades 6 through 8.
  • Students will engage in hands-on activities and use computers to explore the fascinating world of Astronomy.
  • Students will also participate in a class Astronomy game show to test their new found knowledge.
  • Subjects covered will include:
    • Planets
    • Night sky and constellations
    • Spectroscopy
    • EM spectrum
    • Radio sky
    • Safe telescopic solar observations
    • The use of the scientific method
  • Students will see a different planetarium program every day.
    • The Secret of the Cardboard Rocket
    • Earth, Moon, Sun
    • New Horizons
    • Wonders of the Universe
    • Imagination, Art, and Science
  • Camp will include an open house on Friday that will end with a planetarium show.
  • Activities and classes for students will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Enrollment is limited to 18, so please apply early.
  • Cost is Free!!
